Municipal forest is situated in thenorthern part of the city and occupies an areaof over 10 km2. The forest is a wildlife refugeabundant in numerous plant species. It pridesitself on its natural wealth preserved in its primaryform in protected nature reserves. Wecome across many representatives of the worldof plants and animals in it. The most frequentlyfound tree species are: pine, oak, beech,spruce, maple and birch. Among pine-trees,which occupy about 80% of its area, it is oftenpossible to see specimens over 140 years old.
